
Before they hit the ice for Team Canada or in the PWHL, the future of Canadian women’s Hockey debuts on the national stage, playing for gold and national bragging rights. The U18 Women’s Nationals are a proven stepping stone to international success – 22 of the 23 players who won Olympic gold in 2022 are tournament alumnae. Legends like Marie-Philip Poulin, Natalie Spooner, and Sarah Fillier all made their mark here before going on to achieve global stardom.
Eight provincial and regional teams – Alberta, Atlantic, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario Blue, Ontario Red, Quebec, and Saskatchewan – will gather in Newfoundland and Labrador at Glacier Arena in Mount Pearl and CBS Arena in Conception Bay South from Nov. 2-8. Hockey Canada is committed to growing women’s and girls’ Hockey across the country. To celebrate the 2025 U18 Women’s National Championship, access to every game will be available for free online viewing.

As the first step in the Program of Excellence, the U17 World Challenge has featured elite talent from Canada and around the world since its inception in 1986, producing more than 2,000 NHL draft picks, including 21 first-overall selections –names like Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, Alexander Ovechkin, Nathan MacKinnon, John Tavares, Mats Sundin, Joe Thornton, and Patrick Kane.
The tournament features two Canadian teams – Red and White – taking on four international entries: Czechia, Finland, Sweden, and the United States. The U17 World Challenge is set to take place at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro, Nova Scotia, with pre-tournament action scheduled for October 31, followed by the preliminary round on November 2.
