About Our Program

Arizona State University women’s hockey had its inaugural season in 2016-2017. The team competes in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) in the DI division. This is a highly competitive collegiate league, with ASU women’s hockey being one of the furthest West teams in the league.

Lindsey Ellis
Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations
Ellis is entering her 9th year as Head Coach & Director of Hockey Ops for the Sun Devils for the 24-25 season. Ellis has led the women’s hockey team to national prominence as a consistent Top 10 team in the nation. The Sun Devils have had two back-to-back national tournament appearances and two WWCHL Conference Championships. During the 23-24 season, Ellis helped guide the team to an undefeated 18-0 record in WWCHL conference play. Ellis is a 3x WWCHL Coach of the Year (2022, 2023 & 2024).

Ellis has been named Head Coach of Team USA for the 2025 Winter World University Games.Ellis is a native of Arizona and grew up playing hockey in the Phoenix Valley. Ellis graduated from and played 4 years at Miami University-Ohio and was an assistant captain for 2 years. She is a two-time CCWHA Champion (2014 & 2015), 2014 ACHA DI National Champion, and 2015 ACHA DI National Runner-Up.

She received her Master’s in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University. She is completing her Doctor of Education at Northeastern, with a research focus on team values and performance in sports teams.
Kenzie Pavlack
​Assistant Coach		Pavlack is entering her 5th year as Assistant Coach for the Sun Devils for the 24-25 season. She works primarily with the defensemen at ASU.

Pavlack is an Arizona native. She graduated from and played 4 years at Nichols College and was the team captain.
Mariah Trupp
Assistant Coach		Trupp is entering her 7th year as an Assistant Coach for the Sun Devils for the 24-25 season.

Trupp is from Topeka, Kansas and graduated from and played four years at Plymouth State University. She is also a Sun Devil and received her Master’s of Accounting from Arizona State.
