(NHL) Female Coaches Spotlight – Carley Blomberg

Assistant Coach | Brock University Women’s Hockey

For the past two years, Carley Blomberg has contributed as an Assistant Coach at Brock University while also leading the U22 Fort Erie International Academy Female Hockey Program. Her coaching approach is centered on supporting athletes in their holistic development, both on and off the ice, helping them reach their fullest potential.

Carley’s university career culminated in 2022 with an OUA Conference Championship with Brock University and a trip to the Women’s National U-Sport Championships in PEI. As a U-Sport Academic All-Canadian from 2017 through 2022 and a key member of the Badgers’ Leadership Group from 2018 to 2022, she demonstrated her commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics. In 2021, Carley was selected as one of six student-athletes named to Hockey Canada’s Creating Coaches Mentorship Program.

In addition to her university achievements, Carley served as an Assistant Coach with the Stoney Creek Sabres, capturing the Esso Cup U18 National Championship in 2023. On the international stage, Carley and her National Women’s Team Canada crew secured Gold at the 2022 World Ball Hockey Championship and Bronze in 2024. In 2023 she assisted Canada’s U21 Women’s National Ball Hockey Team at the World Ball Hockey Championship, capturing another gold.

Carley has been coaching and teaching skills for several years, collaborating closely with True Stride Hockey Development.
