
Delaney Collins
Coach | Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation
Delaney Collins is currently a coach, skills coach and coach mentor with the Hungarian National Women’s Hockey teams. She has been coaching with the Hungarian teams since 2022. Delaney is an Assistant Coach with the Senior Women’s Team, mentor to the U18 coaches and was the Head Coach of the Youth Olympic Games team in 2024. The team brought home a gold medal from the Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon, South Korea. In 2024 Delaney was named the coach of the year in Hungary for hockey.
Delaney is a former Team Canada defender winning IIHF gold medals in 2000, 2004 and 2007 and silver in 2005 and 2008. After her playing career with Team Canada, Delaney was an Assistant Coach at Mercyhurst University from 2011- 2018. She simultaneously coached Canada’s U18 Team and the Canadian Development Team in the roles of Assistant Coach and Head Coach between the years of 2013 and 2018.
Delaney and her family live in the Nashville area where she works with the Nashville Jr. Predators and players in between her trips to Europe. Last season USA Hockey brought Delaney on a skills coach with the U18 Women’s Team where they went on to win an IIHF gold medal in Zug, Switzerland in 2023-2024.
Delaney is passionate about growing hockey globally and works for the IIHF as a skills coach at U18 High Performance Camps and IIHF Leadership Camps.
A graduate of the University of Alberta and Mercyhurst University, Delaney has her Masters Degree is Organizational Leadership.
